Denny Bute

What do you do for the Visitors Center?

I work part time at the front desk answering the phone and greeting visitors. I also check our internet contacts each day and mail any requests for information.

What brought you to the Ottawa area originally? How long have you lived here?

I was born and raised in Ottawa. The only time I have not lived in Ottawa is the 3 years I spent in Germany when I was in the Army.

What is your favorite thing about our community?

I like the fact that Ottawa is a small town with a very friendly attitude. It is really nice to walk around town and know most people and when you go into a business most of the time you are dealing with the owner.

What famous OTTAWA person would you like to meet?

I would most like to meet W.D. Boyce, the founder of the Boy Scouts of America. I think it would be interesting to talk to him about the times during which he lived and the world he traveled in.

What do you enjoy most about working at the Visitors Center?

I think I mostly enjoy meeting and talking to the visitors you stop by for info and end up telling me something about themselves. I have met some very interesting people when they are just passing through Ottawa.
